Wobbler Classroom

The wobbler class consists of all infants over 12 months who have learned to eat and walk independently. Wobblers begin using sippy cups and, at eating times, they have learned to sit at a wobbler-size table with chairs. This is such a fun age! The little ones become more independent and self-reliant. They communicate by sign language and beginning words as their language skills rapidly develop.

Academically, the room is separated into two groups. Each teacher is responsible for a different activity. One may do an art project while the other does a carpet activity or free-choice play. Wobblers learn about letters, numbers, shapes and colors. We offer a wide variety of skill-developing activities and different ways the wobblers can express themselves through science, math, reading, music and movement, drama, cooking, show ā€˜nā€™ tell, toys and games. They learn through art, non-toxic paint projects, and more. At this age, weather permitting, wobblers go outside to the playground twice daily. Outside, they explore climbing, running, and interacting with one another. After lunch it is naptime.

By the age of two, wobblers are expressing their growing independence, and the toddler room is the next step for our little friends. In that classroom learning becomes more fun with talking, singing, and messy projects.
