Sorrento Day Care in Beaverton Mon-Fri / 6:30am - 6:00pm
We take care of children from age 3 months to 12 years old. We have six classrooms at Sorrento Day Care.
Each classroom follows the same center monthly and weekly themes, focusing on seasons, animals, space, and other topics of interest to children and families. Within the individual classrooms, the teachers create their own lesson plans to focus on the developmental needs and interests of the group. This can look like baby sign language and learning to crawl in the Infant class, exploring a new book in the Wobbler class, using big paint brushes for both a sensory and an art experience in Toddlers, gathering and painting cool rock "treasures" in Preschool, creating a personalized word wall in Pre-K, and having a book club in School Age. There are so many possibilities!
All classrooms learn about weekly letters and monthly numbers, shapes, and colors. The Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes use the Scholastic Little Learner packet workbooks and Letter People stories, songs, and puppets to work on their alphabet, writing, and math skills in preparation for Kindergarten.
As a small, family-owned center we pride ourselves on individual attention and partnering with families to decide when children are ready to move up to the next classroom.
